Q1: What is the working title of your book? A short story called Close Encounters or Destiny?
Q2: Where did the idea for the book come from? A baseline idea I saw in a group, and a need to be heard. I have always written down my feelings throughout my life, so writing has become very therapuetic for me, even more so lately.
Q3: What genre does your book fall under? Paranormal / Urban Fantasy
Q4: Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition?
Chayanne
Bret Michaels
Julia Stiles
Oh my definitely I would want the two men I based my characters on a Latin Singer ~ Chayanne, of course Poison's front man ~ Bret Michaels and for the female lead ~ Julia Stiles.. When I dream ~I dream BIG!
Q5: What is the one sentence synopsis for your book? One's destiny in life is at times not what it appears to be, or is it?
Q6: Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency? Indie all the way ~ it has been ACCEPTED and I am STOKED! My lips are sealed.. Bwahahahahaha.. sorry
Q7: How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript? About 7 or 8 months, muses can be stubborn, screeching things to an abtupt halt. Writing is fast becoming a positive outlet in my life.
Q8: What other books would you compare this story to, within your genre? There really is no way to answer this question as a comparison because each writer is as unique as the stories that they write.
Q9: Who or what inspired you to write this book? My Love of Vampires, and Good ~ Evil, the challenge of writing it for someone else other than just thoughts in a journal. I love a good challenge, it keeps brain alive.
Q10: What else about your book might pique the readers' interest? The twists and turns the characters go through and the world they live in, is let's just say , unique and original, based on some of my life's experiences..
This has been fun, a very huge step in my life and I am soo excited... Thanks for sharing this milestone in my life......

Now for the Interview
When did you start writing?
I started writing April of 2009. At that time I didn't know exactly what to write, I just knew I had to write.
What inspired you to do it?
Well, I'm a wife and a stay at home mom of three. I had been feeling like I was supposed to be doing something else in life, something more. I prayed for a full year that God would show me what that something was. In between all of this my father passed away of lung cancer (January 2009). Three months after his death God answered my prayers...I was supposed to write. And so now that's what I do!
What projects have you done?
I have a few projects. Here there are: Seer Society Series (Mark of the Seer, Broken) which is published through Crushing Hearts and Black Butterfly, Beyond the Never Anthology (along with Madison Daniel, Alexia Purdy, Kyani Swanigan, and Linna Drehmel) which is also published through CHBB. And Most recently, The Gracen Chronicles (Silver Mortal), which I'm self-publishing. I also have a stand alone novel in my brain...it's about a certain ghost named Daniel (read BTN and you'll understand) ;)
Any new projects coming up?
Right now I'm preparing for Silver Mortal's launch, which is 9/21/12. I'm currently working on book two in the series, which is titled Night Viper.
Are you an independent artist or are you represented by an agency?
Currently I'm both. The Gracen Chronicles is my self-published series, and the Seer Society Series is through CHBB. Broken is coming out 11/23/12.
Any favorite bands?
Do you use music to inspire you as you write? Music is a big part of my writing. Without it I don't know how I could get fight scenes out of my brain. Also if I was to list every song, every band that has inspired me it would take pages and pages to get them all down. So I'll just post the songs that inspired The Gracen Chronicles: Touched and Flames by Vast, Courtesy Call by Thousand Foot Krutch, Big Bad Wolf by Disciple, I'm Alive by Shinedown, Castle of Glass, Victimized, and Roads Untravelled by Linkin Park, What The Hell and I'm With You by Avril Lavigne, Prey and Sword by Ashes Divide...I'll stop there! lol
What advice would you give to someone just starting out in your field? To not get down, to not give up. Write write write!
Anything you would like to share with readers on a personal note that would allow them to get to know you better?
I'm a loving wife, a dedicated mom, lousy cook, even lousier at house cleaning, and most of the time I'm a scatterbrained mess. I love God, my family, my friends, and my favorite pastime is reading. :)
Do you find it hard to share your work with others? I used to. When I first started out I was afraid of what people would say. Would they like it? Would they hate it?
After awhile you get used to the criticism from those who totally crap on your work. That's when you learn to focus more on the people who LOVE your work. I mean let's face...you can't please everyone, and the people who say you can are totally lying.
Did your writing come from just a need to express yourself or a particular experience that you had?
My writing comes from my heart, and my imagination is huge. I've always liked the paranormal so that's what I write. And even though I'm 33 I still feel 17.
Thank you so much for taking the time out of your demanding schedule to chat with us today. It always a pleasure to bring exciting new reads to my readers. When Jenna Kay's Silver Mortal is released I will post the link as soon as I can.
Today we have the Awesome Jamie Hope with us. Welcome to I Love My Authors Jaimie, it is so nice to have you here. I like to ask questions when I have the opportunity, Jaimie answered a few for us today. Before we get to the Interview I would like to introduce you to Baby Jaimie and to the author herself.
The Adventures of Baby Jaimie: Baby Jaimie Has A Crush
From the minute she met him everyone thought Baby Jaimie's first crush was Derek. Derek even thought so. That's why he asked her first grade teacher, Mrs. Smith if he could come visit her. The day of the visit didn't go as planned. While Derek was introducing himself a new student, Jack, entered the room and stole everyone's attention. Especially Baby Jaimie's. For that reason Derek took an instant disliking to the new kid. Baby Jaimie is forced to choose between Derek and Jack and she doesn't know what to do. Is there a way to combine old friends with new friends? Can't they all just get along? Find out in The Adventures of Baby Jaimie: Baby Jaimie Has A Crush.
Jaimie Hope was born November 3, 1976 in New York. It wasn't until high school, where she joined the newspaper staff, that she decided she wanted to be a writer. After graduation, writing was put aside for a while. The author went to college and received an Associates degree in 1999. Then she moved to Florida where she was an active volunteer in the local historical society and remained active in the arts. It wasn't until 2005 that Jaimie wrote her first children's book, The Adventures of Baby Jaimie, published in 2006 and Who Says You Can"t Go Home? in 2008. The Adventures of Baby Jaimie: Baby Jaimie Goes to School in 2010. Her Autobiography, Roll With It followed by the third volume in her children's series, The Adventures of Baby Jaimie: Baby Jaimie Gets Stage Fright, and her first Paranormal Romance, When You Come Back To Me Again were released in 2011. Finally, The Adventures of Baby Jaimie: Baby Jaimie Has a Crush was released in 2012. What's next for this author? Currently, she has the fifth volume in the Baby Jaimie series under contract and a couple novels are also in the works.
Now for the Interview
When did you start writing?
I started writing professionally in 2005, but have been writing and making up stories for as long as I can remember. Before I could write I would entertain others by telling them stories that I created in my head. What inspired you to do it?
I was originally inspired out of necessity. When I was a child in elementary school I wasn't allowed to run around with the other children on the playground due to the district being afraid of a lawsuit if I got hurt. I was and am disabled, the separation on the playground did nothing to help me in the friend department, so I made up a world filled with my own friends.
Do you find that it is hard to get people excited about what you do?
Actually, people seem to be very impressed when they first hear what I do, so it isn't hard to get them excited in my projects. What projects have you done? I currently have eight books published. Four of my books are in my series The Adventures of Baby Jaimie. They are The Adventures of Baby Jaimie, The Adventures of Baby Jaimie: Baby Jaimie Goes To School, The Adventures of Baby Jaimie: Baby Jaimie Gets Stage Fright and The Adventures of Baby Jaimie: Baby Jaimie: Has a Crush.
I also have three YA novels. They are Who Says You Can't Go Home?, Bless The Broken Road and When You Come Back To Me Again. One of my books is my Autobiography, Roll With It.
Any new projects coming up?
The Adventures of Baby Jaimie: Baby Jaimie Loses A Tooth is currently slated for release in August as is the coloring book to go along with it. The sixth Baby Jaimie book, The Adventures of Baby Jaimie: Baby Jaimie Goes To The Hospital is set for release in November.
I also have a novel coming out this year. The final book in the Who Says You Can't Go Home? trilogy, Somebody Must Be Praying for me will be released sometime this fall.
Do you find it hard to share your work with others?
When I first started in 2005 I used to show my work to just about everyone I know. I stopped this after I realized I was showing my work to my first potential consumers, my family and friends. While I knew most would still buy my books in support of me I began to shy away from sharing manuscripts. Currently, I only share completed manuscripts with my favorite author and great friend, Cindy Springsteen.
What is your opinion on people who post bad reviews?
Bad reviews are a part of the job. I admit they are my least favorite part, but a well written review, even if it's negative, can be helpful in learning what people like or don't like.
Do you have any particular networking groups you would like to share that have helped you move forward with your success?
I belong to several groups on Facebook and Linkedin for networking purposes. I am also a member of SCBWI.
Are you an independent artist or are you represented by an agency?
An Independent
What advice would you give to someone just starting out in your field?
Do your research. I mean that on different levels. Before you even write a word do your research in the genre. Read reviews on sites like Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and Goodreads to find out what people are saying about the books in that genre. While it is true you should write about the things you like and know most about, when you are writing for money you'll want to write what sells. Example: If you write in the paranormal genre you wouldn't want to write about werewolves if vampires were the only books selling.
After the book is done more research is necessary to find the best publisher. These days there are a lot of publishers that pop up daily. Before you sign anything check them out with the Better Business Bureau and Editors And Predators. Even if they seem legit at that point you should still do a Google search of the company name with the words "complaints and scams" after it.
Earlier today the lovely Candi Delshamagus, a brand new author from Hot Ink Press, an erotic imprint of Crushing Hearts and Black Butterfly Publishing was with us. While she was here I had the opportunity to ask her a few questions. I love this part, but first I want to introduce you to her brand new short story just released today. Taste Eternity.
18+ Read Only!!
A party, a few Tequila shots, and a dare....
Darcy Adams is about to discover that her sex life is far more complicated than she imagined after a drunken orgy with her husband, and his friends. When Darcy's husband arranges for her to participate in a foursome, with a couple he knows to be swingers, she discovers a sexual appetite she couldn’t imagine she possessed. The aftermath could send her straight to Hell. Her destiny has been waiting centuries for this. Heaven, and Hell, are waiting for her to decide how she'll "Taste Eternity".
Now on to the Interview When did you start writing? I started really writing when I was a teenager, though I dabbled in it when I was younger. I didn’t start writing erotica until I was well into my twenties.
What inspired you to do it? I had some depression issues, the result of a sexual assault. I realized that writing out my feelings really helped me face them head-on. By giving them to my characters, I could look at them from a more detached viewpoint. It took me a long time to get a grip on my own sensual nature. Erotica gives me an extra outlet to express that.
What projects have you done? I have an erotic short, “Taste Eternity” releasing with Hot Ink Press on August 4th, 2012. So far, none of my other projects have been published. They aren’t really ready yet.
Any new projects coming up? I was thinking that if “Taste Eternity” does well, I might continue with a series of short stories, based on mythological and historical characters. I’d like to have them connect in some way, and maybe release a compendium as a print edition.
Are you an independent artist or are you represented by an agency? I am proud to be an independent author, and even more proud to be a part of the Independent Publishing Company Crushing Hearts and Black Butterfly, through their Hot Ink Press imprint.
Any favorite bands? Do you use music to inspire you as you write? I have a LOT of favorite bands! I love music, well, art in any form really. It’s hard to pick just one. Umm, right this second it would be Audioslave. Ask me again in five minutes. ;-D I always write to music. Stories are like little written movies to me, so I like to have a Soundtrack for the film.
What advice would you give to someone just starting out in your field? Oh, wow! I don’t know if I’m really in a position to give advice. I’m a Newbie here. I suppose I’d tell them to keep writing. Just put the words on paper. Worry about the rest later.
Anything you would like to share with readers on a personal note that would allow them to get to know you better? I’m an awful lot like a butterfly, flitting from place to place, interest to interest. You won’t find me settling down in one place or with one project, very often. Books and writing are really the only rock solid things in my life, aside from my soulmate, who I was lucky enough to find in this lifetime. A little bit gypsy, a little hippy and a bit of rock and roll, I’m a chameleon who blends in, or a clown who stands out, depending on my mood. You might say my entire personality is a study in contradictions. Hahaha!
Do you find it hard to share your work with others? Hell, yes! Showing someone my writing is like cracking my head open and giving them a chance to look right into my psyche. I’ve never felt as exposed as when I first shared something I’d written. At the same time, though, I always wanted to be published. Maybe it’s harder to share with someone I know, than with strangers.
Did your writing come from just a need to express yourself or a particular experience that you had? At first it was a specific experience. Then it became a more of a way of venting my emotions. Eventually I got more creative with it and it became a way of expressing myself that I seemed to be better at than painting or singing, two of my other great loves.
Thank you Candi for your time today.. Congratulations on your new release.
You can bet I will be posting my review of this one on my Review Blog Lovetiggi's Book Reviews in the very near future..
I am so pleased to have Jade Mira here today.. Welcome Jade.
Jade is a newly published author with Hot Ink Press, an erotic imprint of Crushing Hearts and Black Butterfly Publishing. Bella Morte is a beautiful death anthology just released, which features Whispers in the Night and Dominating Factors both written by our lovely guest.
I started writing in an online diary back in 1999. It quickly became my home away from home. I was able to express myself without censorship. I’m not big on censoring myself as many people already know *laughs*
What inspired you to do it?
Actually it was a “who” for me. Her name is “Baylee” I met her through the online diary where it all started for me *smiles* She is an amazing artist and poetess.
It’s what, 11 years later? We are still friends today and I love her to the moon and back!
What projects have you done?
Well, *smiles* “Bella Morte” is my first. My first time being published! It’s just so surreal. I’m so honored to be in the company of such amazing writers. SJ Davis and Rue Volley have made my dream a reality. I can never express what that means to me in words. Those two ladies right there ROCK it so hard!
Any new projects coming up?
Yes, I’m working on an erotic short right now *grins* Keep your fingers crossed for me y’all *winks*
Are you an independent artist or are you represented by an agency?
Indie All the Way and nothing else!
Any favorite bands?
Do you use music to inspire you as you write? I have many favorite bands! I’m a Rocker chic at heart. But, I do love all music. Aaron Lewis of “Staind” is my hero! It was when I was listening to his words that I was able to find my own and weave them into the poetry that I've written. This quote is from one of my favorite authors and music man extraordinaire, Madison Daniel. “Music is forever. Music is life. Music is something worth believing in...Music is my words, my soul...my muse.” And it shows in his book! Madison is rocking the literary world with “Ember”
What advice would you give to someone just starting out in your field?
Write everything down! Let those thought’s flow from your mind to your fingers. Once you do that, you’re half way there. That’s how it seems to work for me. If I keep the words in too long, they’re lost to me. So, I would say just to give your words the freedom they’re begging for *smiles*
Anything you would like to share with readers on a personal note that would allow them to get to know you better?
Oh boy! My favorite question *laughs*I always have a problem answering this! Like Bio’s for instance, they’re usually always blank. I am always just Me. Here and in my everyday life. I am who I am because I don’t know any other way to be *winks* So, I’ll just say that I’m passionate with everything I touch *grins*
Do you find it hard to share your work with others?
That depends on who’s going to be reading it *laughs* on my diary, no, not at all. But when I shared my poetry with two author friends of mine, absolutely! I was so nervous I thought I was going to have a panic attack *laughs* I mean these are authors that I crush over. Oh and I know you readers know exactly what I mean when I say, I stalk them! In a good fan stalking kind of way of course *laughs*
Did your writing come from just a need to express yourself or a particular experience that you had?
All my pieces have definitely come from personal experiences. Everything I’ve written has a piece of my heart and soul in it for sure *smiles*
Thank you so much for taking the time out of your busy schedule and spending time with us!! ROCK ON and I have just purchased Bella Morte and will be posting my review on my Review Blog: Lovetiggi's Book Reviews
