A. Jacob Sweeny's Pulse of Heroes Blog Tour and Giveaway

I absolutely LOVE this series!
Meet A. Jacob Sweeny

History is and has always been a passion of mine. And it is this passion that lead to the original creative spark of The Pulse Myth Series.

As I continued my upper education and moved on from high school to college, I was introduced to more historical narratives and knew right away that most people will never hear or know about them. With much excitement I found that the things I was learning were just as fascinating if not more so than some of the fictional stories that I read about in books. The vast amount of human endeavor and experiences is a massive source of stories and plots and of course of personal stories and heroes.

I immediately wanted to share this new found knowledge with others. I knew that most people, unless they themselves went into historical studies, would never know about the things I was studying, and hence would not look at the world they were living in with the same fascination that they actually should. I think more knowledge would shed light on everyone.

As I dove deeper and further into the past I found out that many of the things that we think we know as fact based history, are in fact wrong or distorted from the original source. I wanted to bring such discrepancies to light without sounding preachy and without writing a nonfiction history book, since that would only get me the audience that already has interest in such topics. I wanted to reach the masses. And for me The pulse Myth Series is the perfect vehicle to do just that.

In terms of the histories which I do include in my novels, they are always well researched and I use at least 3 varying sources to be able to come up with what in my opinion would be closest scenario to the truth. I always search as far back as I can go in terms of my primary resources, although even those many times are unsubstantiated. Many of the historicity about events and people has been written years, sometimes even hundreds of years after the actual events took place. In this situation I try and fill in the blank from surrounding resources-although every historian knows the trap of trying to add things up the way it would make sense to us. Things aren’t always so, and many times we end up with a fantasy history based on our modern perceptions. In Pulse Genesis I plan to l expose a couple of such incidences and leave it to the audience to make up their mind. So stay tuned….

Pulse Of Heroes
The Pulse myths (Book 1)

WINNER OF 2011 INDIE BOOK OF THE YEAR!!!! At Paranormal Reads! A suspenseful, passionate, paranormal romance that sweeps through the emotions of first love and heartache as it traverses centuries and continents.
Michelle used to feel like she was behind in everything, especially school and relationships. Her great aunt from the old country says she is like a bland meal, "no salt or pepper". But in junior year, everything changes. Her father takes a position on the Town Council, a popular boy in school becomes interested in her, and most importantly, the Hekademos Learning Center, a private school for 'troubled' students, moves into her quiet neighborhood amidst the protests of the entire town.

After an embarrassing fall over the school wall, Michelle meets Elliot and her ordinary ‘bland’ life changes its course forever.

Elliot is no ordinary human. In fact, no one at the Hekademos Learning Center is. Beautiful and fierce, they have survived throughout the millennia by weaving in and out of human events. Through them, Michelle learns that history and myths from around the world are dotted with references to their kind. Michelle falls madly in love with the ever-striking and mysterious Elliot and, as much as he tries to fight it, he develops strong feelings for her as well. Although Elliot carries numerous painful memories from his many pasts, he disregards his own better judgment and the advice of his friends, and finds himself falling for Michelle‘s offbeat personality. Their feelings grow in intensity, but when History catches up with them, the difference between their life paths threatens to destroy any future that they might have had together.

Michelle learns that there are infinite shades of gray between black and white, and has to deal with the bundle of contradictory emotions called love. She has to trust her intuition in order to face the danger and uncertainty of being drawn into Elliot’s wondrous world. Ultimately, it is up to Michelle to make the split-second, life-altering decision that will either tear them apart forever, or give them another chance.

My Review of Pulse of Heroes

Of Blood and Pulse
The Pulse myths (Book 2)

Of Blood And Pulse picks up the story right where Pulse Of Heroes left off...

After a rocky start, Michelle and Elliot's relationship seems to be teetering on nothing but a few fraying strings, despite the great love that they both feel for one another.

Haunted and scarred by the events of the past year, they both suffer from traumatic consequences. To complicate things even further, someone who knows far too much about Elliot shows up unexpectedly, bringing revelations that even Elliot as a 4700 year-old immortal has a hard time grasping. This visitor’s mere presence adds yet another strain to the couple’s already fragile relationship.

However before Michelle and Elliot can remedy and mend their love, they must heal themselves, and that task will not be as easy, or as safe, as it seems. Join Michelle and Elliot on an epic life-and-death adventure that will take them to the four corners of the world in search of the key to their survival.

The Pulse Historia #1
A Sword For His Women

The Pulse Historia is a series of short stories chronicling various episodes in the lives of A Jacob Sweeny’s beloved Immortals from the smash hit trilogy The Pulse Myths. Each Pulse Historia narrative can be read and enjoyed on its own, but for a deeper understanding of what and who these characters are and how they fit into the trilogy, check out Pulse of Heroes, a 200,000 word epic paranormal romance set in modern day.

WARNING:
I would like to add a light warning for this series. I did so on my other pages so I thought I should do so here. In PULSE HISTORIA we follow real historical events, meaning I will not sugarcoat facts. History is brutal and not always "politically correct", but as a history teacher it is my duty to present facts without fear of what others might think. Also we follow more personal stories of our much loved heroes- and they are grown men and will be doing grown men things-so things might get steamier. In The Pulse Myth series we see our immortals living in a very soft world compared to how things were...

A SWORD FOR HIS WOMEN tells the story of how several of the immortal heroes from The Pulse Myths series first encountered one another while fighting alongside Vlad Dracul (Vlad The Impaler) against the Ottoman Turks in the mid 1400’s. It follows one of the heroes and his personal story of loss and heartache, and redemption.
