♥Synopsis♥
Hear the voice of the author himself as he reads you one of his best-selling spine-tinglers. Lend Stephen King your ear and with his signature Mainer drawl, he will creep right inside your head to disturb your very soul.
Desperation is a little mining town, the kind of place many will enter on their way to somewhere else. But getting out is not as easy as it would seem....
Located off a desolate stretch of Interstate 50, Desperation, Nevada, has few connections with the rest of the world. It is a place, though, where the seams between worlds are thin. And it is a place where several travelers are abducted by Collie Entragian, the maniacal police officer of Desperation. Entragian uses various ploys for the abductions, from an arrest for drug possession to "rescuing" a family from a nonexistent gunman. There's something very wrong here, all right, and Entragian is only the surface of it.
The secrets embedded in Desperation's landscape and the evil that infects the town like some viral hot zone are both awesome and terrifying. But as one of the travelers, young David Carver, seems to know—though it scares him nearly to death to realize it—so are the forces summoned to combat them.
This audiobook is an absolute must for Stephen King fans, but truly a treat for anyone who just loves hearing a great ghost story told by the master of creepy.

♥What the Critics Say♥
"Stephen King's knack for turning the stray junk of pop culture into sick, darkly engrossing thrills has rarely been this much in evidence as in Desperation." (Salon)

Very Entertaining! Stephen King Can  Read to Me Anytime!

I Love Stephen King Books! What made this one really interesting is Stephen King narrated this audiobook himself. I became enthralled with the storyline and had to keep stopping it and rewind a bit because I didn't want to miss anything.

The world building is consistent, dark, and terrifying at times. I Love it!

Collie Entragian, is one hell of a character. He's creepy, sadistic, and is what drives the story. I would try to guess what he would do next... HA! He would throw me for a loop Everytime!

Great story... Go get ya some!

Great Narration - Slow-paced Story

In this fifth installment of James Patterson's Women's Murder Club, The 5th Horseman, we find Lindsay in the middle of some gruesome, and mysterious happenings even at the hospital. Somewhat slower paced than the previous installments, it is still a great addition to the series. We even have a new member in the Women's Murder Club.

Well-written with descriptive scenarios twisting and embarking on a journey that I found to be  intense and suspenseful, they grabbed my heart with a déjà vu feeling... Been there.. done that!  Heart wrenching!!

I Love the world though, I grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area... Identifiable! Makes it all
the more pleasurable. IMHO!

Carolyn McCormick is quite a narrator, I enjoy listening to her voice differentiations between the characters. How she can keep them straight is beyond me. You Go Girl!

All on all, I found this to be a 4 out of 5 Hearts. Bring on #6💥The 6th Target.

💥Synopsis💥

After losing one of its own, Lindsay Boxer and the Women's Murder Club make a courageous return for their fourth and most chilling case ever, one that could easily be their last. A young girl is killed in crossfire after a routine arrest goes terribly wrong, and Lt. Lindsay Boxer has to defend herself against a charge of police brutality. In a landmark trial that transfixes the nation, Lindsay fights to save her career and her sanity.
While awaiting trial, Lindsay escapes to the beautiful town of Half Moon Bay, but the peaceful community there is reeling from a string of unspeakable murders. Working with her friends in the Women's Murder Club, Lindsay finds a link between these killings and a case she worked on years before: an unsolved murder that has haunted her ever since. As summer comes into full swing, Lindsay battles for her life on two fronts: before a judge and jury as her trial comes to a climax; and facing unknown adversaries who will do anything to keep her from the truth about the killings, including killing again. It all comes to a head before the big annual 4th of July celebration on the waterfront at Half Moon Bay. Patterson fine-tunes the tension like never before in this heart-racing new novel in the best-selling detective series to debut in years.

Such a Great Series!

This review is for 4th of July, book #4 in James Patterson's Women's Murder Club. They should be read or heard in order, as there are some elements mentioned that derive from previous installments.

Some of the judicial steps may be presented differently but, this is fiction, so in my honest opinion, that's acceptable.

San Francisco, California, also known as San Francisco Bay Area, or just 'The Bay Area', is my childhood stomping grounds. How I miss them too. I recognize the places and towns mentioned, that is a definite plus in my book.

Lieutenant Lindsay Boxer finds herself in an unbelievable dilemma and having to defend herself and her actions, makes the plot sweeter.

I enjoy the  short and fast paced chapters, the background accompaniment of sounds, and the action from start to finish. This is a journey through some tragically twisted events and horrifying turns as the race is on. Lindsay strikes me as a strong female who refuses to stop until she solves whatever she is chasing. Gotta Love that!

The narrator did a wonderful job of presenting the characters in clearly distinguished voices. Awesomeness!

Audible Review: Curious Minds by Janet Evanovich & Pheof Sutton

Title: Curious Minds
Series: A Knight & Moon Novel
Authors: Janet Evanovich & Pheof Sutton
Genre: Mystery, Humor
Release Date: August 16th 2016
6 hrs and 47 mins
Unabridged Audiobook

SYNOPSIS

Janet Evanovich, number-one New York Timesbest-selling author of the Stephanie Plum series, teams up with Emmy-winning writer Phoef Sutton for a brand-new series of mysteries featuring Emerson Knight and Riley Moon, a dynamic duo with instant and undeniable chemistry.

Emerson Knight is introverted and eccentric and has little to no sense of social etiquette. Good thing he's also brilliant, rich, and (some people might say) handsome, or he'd probably be homeless.

Riley Moon has just graduated from Harvard Business and Harvard Law. Her aggressive Texas spitfire attitude has helped her land her dream job as a junior analyst with megabank Blane-Grunwald. At least Riley Moon thought it was her dream job, until she is given her first assignment: babysitting Emerson Knight.

What starts off as an inquiry about missing bank funds in the Knight account leads to inquiries about a missing man, missing gold, and a life-and-death race across the country. Through the streets of Washington, DC, and down into the underground vault of the Federal Reserve in New York City, an evil plan is exposed. A plan so sinister that only a megalomaniac could think it up, and only the unlikely duo of the irrepressibly charming Emerson Knight and the tenacious Riley Moon can stop it.

Quite Stimulating to My Imagination!

Janet Evanovich & Pheof Sutton are both new to me Authors. I don't know why I waited so long to get acquainted with Janet Evanovich and Pheof Sutton. This is a very enjoyable story. Well written, easy to follow, and humorous.

This review is for the Audiobook edition.

I absolutely Love this first installment to the Knight & Moon series. Listening to an audiobook is great when the narrator is entertaining. Lorelei King did a stellar
job of bringing these characters to life. Thank you! My mind was very engaged imagining Riley and Emerston going through the scenes.

Emerston Knight is so funny for NOT having a sense of humor. The way he reacted to certain situations made me laugh. Great character!

Riley Moon is sarcastic, snarky, and spunky. Love her attitude! Good strong kick-butt female character with tenacity. Love it!! Her inner dialog had me chuckling throughout the story. I don't use spoilers in my reviews, because they can ruin a book for others.

These two are so different, they actually work very well together. He's brilliant and eccentric, she's hell on wheels, so to speak.

A hunting we will go! Emerston is on a mission and he is adamant about it. Riley has a mission of her own to complete, when these two connect, the journey embarks on a twisted mysterious trip, from one location to another.

I Love mysteries and this is a good one in my book Can't wait for installment two.

Janet Evanovich and Pheof Sutton are new to me authors.

Not for the Faint of Heart!

This is not my first Tim Miller story,  nor will it be my last. As Mr. Miller points out in the beginning. It's his goal to entertain, repulse and horrify us.

Has he achieved his goal?
Yes, he has horrified and repulsed me on more than one occasion. I keep coming back for more.

My thoughts on Suicide Hotline...

Wow! What a Concept!!

Well written, easy to follow, fast-paced, picturesque,  and a wonderfully narrated audiobook. Certain parts of this story messed with me a bit, that is just a side effect of the horror genre.

The format of this book is a bit different than his other ones I have read/listened to. It's like a bunch of short stories combined into one book and I truly enjoyed  the difference.

The narrator did an excellent job of portraying the different characters, I had no problems telling them apart. A true art form in itself. Great job Vincent Lane.

I was gifted an e-copy of this book by the author in exchange for an honest review. No renumeration was involved.

Tim Miller has dedicated his life to writing stories that will both scare readers and make them cringe.

Over the years, Tim's writings have evolved into darker realms. He released his first horror novel, "The Hand of God" in 2011. Since then his books have become progressively more violent and gory. With the release of "Family Night" in 2013, Tim had moved into the world of extreme horror where he continues to push the boundaries of human suffering.

Tim is now an international best seller as well. His books, "Hell, Texas" and "Family Night" have recently ranked high on Amazon sales charts since their release in Germany under German publisher, Festa-Verlag.

He continues to climb the sales charts with his April Almighty series, as well as his recent hits, "Hacked" and "Lady Cannibal."

Tim is very active on social media and loves interacting with his readers. You can find him at his Website.

Not for the Faint of Heart!

OMWow! Where to begin with this little gem of a story? I Loved this twisted thrill ride.

Tim Miller has a very active imagination for starters. I always enjoy a terrifying Miller story. I haven't come across another author yet to compare Mr. Miller to.

This audio book kept me on the edge of my seat wondering where he would go next, what a horrific thrill ride.

The world is dark and sadistic, full of WTF? moments taking me on a journey of fear, anger, horror, and then some. The characters are unique, original, and so sinisterly twisted I am truly amazed by the authors  descriptive writing style.

I found myself listening to some chapters a few times. To hear the narrator's presentation of the character My favorite favorite narrated voice belongsmto Maria! Great narrating Dee Butchery.

I was gifted an audio book by the author in exchange for an honest review. No renumeration was involved.

Quite an Intriguing Start to a Mysterious Series

I have been wanting to read/listen this series for quite a while now. I was not disappointed with the story or the narration of this first installment. Full of heinous crimes and mystery. I quite enjoyed this audio version, it brought the book to life for me.

I really enjoyed the way the narrator portrayed Jacoby's voice. Well Done.
