Release Blitz - Never Again - A Paranormal Detective Novel - by Lily Luchesi @LilyLuchesi

In this standalone spin-off of the Paranormal Detectives Series, we discover the true horrors during Hitler's reign.

In World War Two, not all monsters were human.
Male siren Sean Wireman was ostracized from his small village in Israel in the sixteenth century, forced to wander the world until he settled in America in the 1920's. Since he doesn't age like a normal person, he was fit to fight in World War Two, to defend the heritage he spent his whole life running from.
Seventy years later, after he has lived a whole other life since Hitler was defeated, from attending law school to becoming a bona fide rock star, the monsters the Nazis released upon the Jews in concentration camps have returned, and he is the only one who can destroy them.
But can he save his people once again, or will this fight take a deadly toll?

EXCERPT:

I was freezing. As in limbs numb cold. I woke up in a bed, and dread filled me at the sight around me. I was back in Theresienstadt, and all around me were the frozen corpses of the other inmates. Ice and frost formed on their eyeballs and eyelashes. Their hair was frozen stiff, what they had of it, anyway. Lips blue, skin white as the snow the fell outside.
I got up, and had nowhere to walk. Unless I tread in my bare feet over frozen cadavers, I was stuck, trapped there to freeze to death. Taking a breath that burned my lungs from the cold, I took a step, feeling unmoving, frozen stiff limbs beneath my skin. Brittle, frozen bones cracked under my weight and I felt sicker than ever when I reached the end of the room.
The boy, the one I had given my coat to, was standing in the doorway, still wearing my coat. He was dead, but moving nonetheless. His sightless, frozen eyes stared at me and through me. “You didn’t try hard enough to save me,” he said, his voice naught but a whisper.
Fear made me move, and I shoved the ice-covered zombie aside, only to watch his body shatter like glass when it hit the floor. Blood exploded everywhere from the force of impact, so warm it began to melt the ice that was once a poor little Jewish boy, too young to even shave yet.
I let out a cry and ran out the door, not wanting to see anymore. Outside the door was the old man who had had his skull cracked in by the Nazi that night of the inspection. He was also made of ice, but his head was steadily pumping blood, slowly melting his cold exterior.
“You just watched me die,” he said, his voice sounding just like the boy’s.
“There was nothing I could do!” I protested.
The man lunged at me, but he was too slow and he slammed himself into the wall after I moved out of the way. I didn’t stick around to see if he was still moving or not. I needed to find a way out.
Without any more interruptions, I reached the main hall and opened the door to escape. Standing in the way was my old friend Jakob Edelstein. He was emaciated, but not frozen. His bare arm showed the tattoo that was unique to Auschwitz. His eyes were sunken and blackened, his teeth had mostly fallen out. Oh yes, and one side of his head was blown in, just a large crater like a cracked three-minute egg. Instead of yolk and butter and salt leaking from the crater, though, there was splattered gray matter and blood. Off to one side were three people I didn’t know, but I still knew who they were: Jakob’s wife, mother, and son. All three had identical holes in their heads.
“You escaped, Sean. I didn’t,” Jakob said, his voice low and dark, nothing like the man I knew. “Why did you deserve to live and not me?”
“I didn’t!” I said, tears coming to my eyes. “I didn’t deserve it, but I’m not the one who gets to choose who lives and who dies! Don’t you think I would have traded my life for yours in a second if I could have?”
“Not good enough!” Jakob lunged for me, and I grappled with him. He was stronger than our frozen brethren inside the camp walls. I pushed him down to the ground and watched in mute horror as his head shattered like porcelain, splattering his brains all over the pure white snow.

⚛⚛⚛ Synopsis ⚛⚛⚛

In World War Two, not all monsters were human.
Male siren Sean Wireman was ostracized from his small village in Israel in the sixteenth century, forced to wander the world until he settled in America in the 1920's. Since he doesn't age like a normal person, he was fit to fight in World War Two, to defend the heritage he spent his whole life running from.
Seventy years later, after he has lived a whole other life since Hitler was defeated, from attending law school to becoming a bona fide rock star. In 2017, the monsters the Nazis released upon the Jews in concentration camps have returned, and he is the only one who can destroy them.
But can he save his people once again, or will this fight take a deadly toll?

⚛⚛⚛ Excerpt ⚛⚛⚛

I have no idea how long I stood there after I screamed, but I imagine it wasn’t long before I could hear voices coming closer and closer to where I knelt by the corpse. Panic began to set in then. It was one thing to have sex out of wedlock. It was safe to assume that it was an entirely different kettle of fish to have murdered your partner whilst you were having premarital sex! Sure, I hadn’t meant to do it, but who the Hell would have believed me? I wouldn’t have, had I been asked to believe something so outlandish.
What was I to do? Where was I to go? We were surrounded by barren land beyond our farm. If I were to run, I would be overtaken immediately. And running would make me look guilty. Even guiltier than sitting here beside a fresh cadaver. Of course, if I dressed, perhaps they’d think it was someone else and I had simply found her body here. It was worth a shot, and teenage me didn’t think that someone had seen me leave the house after her.
Teenage me was an idiot and could go fuck himself, if you ask my opinion.
I dressed, clothes were simpler then and I had no need of zippers and complex belts and shoes. We hadn’t progressed from sandals at that point. Despite my quick thinking, I was still distraught, and as soon as I heard the voices even closer I let out the anguished cry that had been sitting, painfully, in my breast. It was followed by a plea for help.
Now that I think about it, maybe I am evil. To have such deep artifice at such a young age and during such a traumatic moment, maybe Angelica should have killed me when she had the chance.
Anyway…
The doors to the barn were wrenched open and I could see everyone entering, silhouetted by their torches. My dad and her dad were leading them all. No women were present. Which was good, because if things went south, I wouldn’t have wanted my mother to see me like that.
“Dad! Dad, help!” I called. “It’s Gail, something happened…” My panic and confusion didn’t need to be faked: I had no idea what had happened. And I was terrified.
They came closer, and the din was suddenly silenced as they took one look at Gail, laying there with blood and little else on her body. I wished I had covered her: it was shameful to let her body be seen this way, but if I had they would have known right away that I was the culprit. Artifice was not a strong point for anyone back in those days, but I seemed to have a knack for it anyway.
The pure silence lasted for only a moment before there was a tortured scream. It came from David, Gail’s father. Thankfully not dropping his torch, he lunged forward only to be held back by my father.
“Sean, what happened?” my father asked me.
“I don’t know. I—I saw her leave earlier and when I went outside to get a drink I saw she wasn’t around but our barn doors were open so I went to close them and I found her…” I swallowed a large gulp of air, having been talking too fast to breathe while still crying.
“Liar!” David cried. “It was you! It had to be you! Everyone else was inside!”
“No matter who it was...what happened to her?” my father asked, looking at her emaciated corpse. “That’s not normal.”
No, it’s not, I thought, panicking. It wasn’t normal, so what the good fuck was I?
“Monster!” David hissed. “What did you do to my daughter?”
I couldn’t answer even if I did want to, because I knew as little as he did. I was sick inside, and frightened of myself. I wondered if I should go to a rabbi myself, get diagnosed. Was it a demon? Did I need to be purged? Or was I just...a monster?

Release Blitz & Giveaway: The Hunger Within by Lily Luchesi

Vampirism isn't all sex, blood, and handcuffs. * She's not all whips and orgasms.

What inspired me to write The Hunger Within

The Hunger Within really started with A Bloody Legacy, the 15k word novelette I released this past April with Hot Ink Press.

BDSM has always been interesting to me, not just because of the sexual aspect but the psychological one as well. It takes two entirely different types of people to be doms/dommes and subs, and different reasons for why each role appeals to them. However, I never thought about writing it at all, though I had penned some erotica short stories for anthologies.

My publisher said femdomme was becoming a trend in books and that there was a lack of it. Somehow, that night, the idea for A Bloody Legacy came to mind.

I am a vampire nerd. Ask anybody. Vampires dominate (pun intended) my work, and I was always intrigued by Dracula and Stoker’s portrayal that he basically had a small harem with his three brides, plus wanting Lucy and then Mina.

Right away my mind went not to Dracula himself, but to a daughter, the next in line to take over the House of Dracul. From there, I thought about Renfield, and how Dracula wasted an opportunity in killing him when he was such a faithful servant (and really was submissive when you read between the lines). So right away, a female Renfield popped into my head with all of the submissive nature but none of the mental illness.

I hadn’t planned on writing a full length novel for the two women, Victoria and Bec, but right away my readers came to me and said, “We need more!” Not want, but need. I am not a plotter, ideas have to come naturally to me.

It took maybe a week before the idea came, and I still have no freakin’ clue how it happened. But I’m glad it did.

As I wrote, I knew I wanted to delve deeper into the psychology of a new sub in a relationship with an experienced domme. We dommes can be cold and calculating due to our positions, often hiding our softer emotions to play our roles. I wanted to explore that line of thinking and how it can confuse a sub, especially a new one.

I also wanted to add in more action, because I grew up with violent vamps, not sexy ones. But to me, violence and power can be very sexy indeed, and that was another thing I made sure to point out in the narrative. To tell the truth, this was also an excuse to write about bloodplay in a very natural setting.

My mind is a melting pot, and everything just stirred together like a big stew and turned into The Hunger Within. Sex, blood, and handcuffs. Love, mystery, and mind games. I hope readers enjoy the book half as much as I enjoyed writing it. Vampires wielding whips and chains as well as fangs? Yes please...

Newly turned vampire Rebecca Renfield is about to discover that there is much more to the world of the Undead than sex, blood, and handcuffs. Her sire and Mistress is the direct descendant of Count Dracula, and that means she has a reputation to uphold. Meetings with vampiric dignitaries, secret blood and bondage dungeons, and vampire hunters now fill the couple's nights. is this world everything Bec thought it would be, or will she fall under the pressure of what it means to be the submissive to the most powerful vampiress in the world?

The body of my best friend for the past twelve years was lying on the entryway floor, nearly bloodless. Her glassy eyes stared at the ceiling in disbelief and eternal fear. I hoped that the undertaker fixed that, or else she’d give the visitors at her funeral quite a shock. Not that the dual vampire bites and broken neck wouldn’t be startling enough.

What was I doing as my friend’s body lay cooling? I was pushed up against the wall in the very same hallway, tasting her blood on my lips and having my clothes torn off of me by my impatient and unbearably sexy Sire and Mistress, Victoria Draconis.

Her now blood-warmed hands tugged down my tank top and tore off my bra in a bloodlust filled haze, leaving bloody handprints on my pale flesh. The eyes that were usually black were now burning with Hellfire, and I am sure mine were as well. She leaned in and licked the blood from the side of my face, her body holding me flush against the wall.

The feelings inside of me were heady and intoxicating, a dark mix of lust, satisfaction, anticipation, and warmth I had never known before. Victoria had told me that there was no better sex than that which took place right after a first feeding, and she seemed to be correct. She hadn’t even touched more than a breast on me and already I was more turned on than I had ever been.

I wanted to make the job go quicker and help remove the rest of my clothing, but I refrained. Victoria hadn't told me that I could and I didn’t want to risk angering her. And no way in Hell would I touch hers without express permission.

“So pliant,” she said, her deep, accented voice giving me chills. “You are a fast learner, my pet.” Her lips captured mine again as she slid my leggings and panties down. I stepped out of them and my sneakers in two quick movements.

Victoria’s hands went to the back of her corset and began to unlace it. Despite it being the twenty-first century, she dressed like a Victorian lady....if ladies of bygone days wore four-inch black leather heels and liked to whip other women for fun, that is. The garment fell away from her body, exposing her large, soft breasts as she then stepped out of her skirt, leaving her heels and sheer red panties on.

Fingers tugged at my nipples, hard, but I was now used to worse.

“As I said, I knew I’d increase your pain threshold,” she said, a smug smile on her face. One hand slithered from my breast up my chest and neck, pressing ever so slightly on my throat now. “On the ground, on your hands and knees. Now.”

I obeyed, too full of arousal to care that I was about to kneel in freshly spilled blood. There was a rustling from behind me and then there was a sharp pain on my arse. She’d removed the belt from my jeans and had proceeded to use it as a whip, something she had done once before when the proper tools weren’t in easy reach.

Victoria loved giving pain, just as much as I loved taking it as I arched my back to meet her next stroke. I hadn't been her sub for very long. In fact, I had just discovered the lifestyle when we met a month ago, but I was so glad that I’d found her...found this.

The next slap of the belt was right between my legs and I let out a cry, somewhere between pain and arousal as the leather connected with my now throbbing clit. I slid forward in the slippery blood, just a bit, and heard my Mistress’ dark laughter behind me.

A few more strokes with the belt adorned my arse, back, and between my shoulder blades, sending me forward even more. The friction--or lack thereof--on the floor had me sprawling, my body now covered in blood as I fought for purchase.

Victoria laid off with the belt, and I felt her sharp heel digging into my back, pressing me downwards despite my effort to remain on all fours.

“Be a good pet and lick it up,” she commanded. “Not all of it, just what’s in front of you.”

The fuck? This was new, at least to me.

I yelped as a fresh wave of pain hit me: Victoria had noticed my hesitation and whipped me straight down my spine.

“Did I stutter, slut?”

EXCERPT from Life Sentence:

“Well, well, little vamplet,” the wolf growled, “it is a true pleasure to see you in person. I see you got my note.”
“Ever hear of email?” Angelica asked. Danny felt the tension in her body flowing in waves. She was just barely restraining herself from launching at the wolf, getting revenge for her fallen employee. “You of know me, eh? Well, then you know what I’m capable of.”
“Oh, I do,” it growled deeply, as if pleased. “And I want to challenge you.”
“Challenge me?” Angelica asked. “To what?”
“A fight. Just us, to see who can win in an old-fashioned, one-on-one brawl.”
“It’s been a while since I was challenged hand-to-hand. You sure you’re up for it?”
Angelica’s smirk was a little alarming. Danny saw Brighton open his mouth to speak, but thought better of it at the look on her face. Angelica was about to go one-on-one with a cursed shifter. Any idiot could tell you that that was a bad idea, even for a full-blooded vampire.
“Can you promise me that your male harem back there won’t get involved? Because if they do, this whole thing is off the table,” the wolf said.
Angelica chuckled. “They know better than to interfere.”
Brighton grabbed Danny’s sleeve. “Are you really going to let her do this?”
“Do you think I can stop her? Or even help her? You know her, Brighton. She’ll incapacitate me in a second before going about the fight as if I never interrupted,” Danny said. “Stubborn as a mule.”
“I can hear you,” she said as she began to remove her black gloves. Her eyes never left the wolf in front of her. “Tell me, why do this? Your orders are to kill me, not challenge me.”
The wolf growled before it answered. “I heard what you did to the ones who came before me. They underestimated you. The only way for me to get a real, fair fight is to challenge you head-on. Why do you think I let that crazy witch turn me in the first place? For the power. I love a challenge. You, Angelica Cross, are a challenge.”
Angelica turned around and placed her two guns on the ground, as promised. She had not brought her sword in her haste to catch the wolf. “Then let’s go--monster to monster.”
The shifter scoffed. “At least I’m not still part human.”
Angelica’s eyes darkened, turning blood red. Her claws started to extend, something that had never happened when she was a vamplet. Finally, Danny watched as her jaw became distended, and her fangs released. These were not the two "Dracula" fangs she had had before: these were the long needle fangs every vampire had. Each tooth became thin and sharp, while the canines on the top and bottom reaching over two inches in length.
“See, that’s the thing: neither am I.”
