Raelyn Jennings knows one thing for certain. She loves Damien Heathman with every fiber of her being. A life without him wouldn’t be one worth living.
Damien has never loved a single soul—until Raelyn. She heals the pain that has tainted the deepest part of his heart. She is his everything, his single reason for breathing. Damien’s relentless determination refuses to let anyone or anything stand in his way of being with her.
But soon, Damien’s and Raelyn’s pasts begin to collide with their future in ways they never thought possible, testing their undying love for one another.
Damien’s dark secrets from the scars hidden beneath his tattoos threaten to reveal themselves while Raelyn is faced with impossible decisions that need to be made.
Can Damien convince Raelyn to take a risk in hopes of securing the longevity of their future? Or will Raelyn choose the safe path that also comes with a limit?
There isn’t any time to waste, for the clock never stops ticking.

Damien still wasn’t home yet, and I was hungry, so I took it upon myself to become acclimated with his kitchen to make us a late-night dinner. I rummaged through his cabinets, pantry, and fridge before settling on something quick and easy—chicken quesadillas.
Once I preheated the oven, I grabbed my iPhone out of my back pocket, opened my music app, and selected Shuffle. “I Don’t Like It, I Love It” by Flo Rida with Robin Thicke and Verdine White began to play.
I sang the lyrics as I pulled out all the necessary ingredients and got to it.
While the chicken with fajita seasoning was frying in the skillet, I chopped up a red bell pepper, followed by a green one, and then a small onion. I used a second saucepan to heat vegetable oil before transferring the chicken and adding the peppers and onion. I’d found a bottle of bacon bits in a cabinet, so I added that, too. The taste didn’t even come close to freshly cooked bacon, but it would suffice for tonight.
I opened up a package of tortillas and placed them on a baking sheet. Once the chicken and vegetables were finished, I divided the mixture between the tortillas. I loaded the tortillas up with cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese. A few stray pieces managed to spill onto my workstation and the tiled floor.
“Whoops,” I murmured, bending over to pick up the cheese.
Then, I stood up straight and spun around to walk to the garbage can. My feet came to an abrupt halt when I saw Damien, looking divine as ever in his infamous dark suit. He was sitting on a barstool at the kitchen island with his elbows resting on the black granite counter.
He suddenly rose to his feet and came around the corner of the island. His eyes intently perused my attire. “I like coming home to you in my kitchen.” A devious smirk spread across his face, causing a sexy dimple to make a heart-stopping appearance. “Even if you are a messy cook.”
I was, but I refused to admit it out loud to him. Instead, I gaped at his straightforwardness. “I am not.”
Damien glanced at my workstation behind me before looking back at me. He arched a brow and playfully argued, “Are so.”
“Am not.” I narrowed my eyes at him, keeping my game face in check. “You should be happy that I made you dinner at all.”
His throaty deep chuckle filled the room as he continued to near. “I’m very grateful that you made me something to eat, but I’m not hungry for food.” His eyes darkened with an unmistakable heat as he pulled me into his arms. “All I can think about is getting you”—he hooked his finger into my tank top and tugged at it, exposing the upper part of my breasts, while leaning in to put his mouth by my ear—“naked.”
“I won’t be getting naked in this kitchen,” I retorted on a laugh.
The wasted cheese fell out of my grip when Damien connected his lips with my throat. He began to trail hot kisses up and down the length of it, and my head automatically tilted to the side to give him better access.
Damn him.
“Raelyn?” Damien said my name in question.
“Yes?” My breath was coming and going in pants. Anticipation and need tightened within my belly and then settled at my center.
“I just watched you parade your delectable ass around my kitchen, half-naked,” he stated in that domineering gruff tone of his. “So, I’ll definitely be fucking you in it.”
